Yuschenko Family

Their lives were irrevocably changed during the war when their family home was destroyed in a horrific tragedy. The owner of the house, Yuriy’s mother, was tragically burned alive inside the home. Her body was never recovered, leaving the family not only grieving her loss but also unable to inherit or register the property. With no home and no means to rebuild, the Yuschenko family was forced to live in a small modular shelter, a temporary and inadequate solution that offered little comfort or security. Their future seemed bleak, as the lack of documentation meant they could not even hope for government assistance to rebuild.

Their fortunes changed when American philanthropist Dell Loy Hansen stepped in. Deeply moved by their heartbreaking story, Hansen built a beautiful, modern, and permanent home for the Yuschenko family. This new house is a place where Yuriy, Vera, and Diana can heal from their loss and start anew, a sanctuary filled with hope and the promise of a brighter future. The Yuschenko family's journey from unimaginable tragedy to renewal is a powerful testament to the difference one act of kindness can make, turning despair into hope and offering a fresh start where none seemed possible.
